In the second quarter of 2022, the top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps on the iOS platform in Africa displayed noteworthy performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user metrics for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

McDonald’s - Non-US saw a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting at 7.6K at the end of March and peaking at nearly 12.7K in early May. By the end of June, downloads were around 7.9K. The app's weekly active users began at approximately 118.8K and experienced fluctuations, ultimately stabilizing at around 118.5K.

KFC Egypt - Order Food Online had a steady increase in weekly downloads, from 2.3K in late March to a peak of nearly 7K in early May, ending the quarter at about 5.7K. Weekly active users followed a similar upward trajectory, starting at 9.3K and reaching 14.5K by the end of June.

KFC South Africa maintained a consistent performance in terms of weekly downloads, hovering around 3K to 4K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed a steady increase from 35.1K at the beginning of April to around 37.4K by the end of June.
